PSP homebrew - DayViewer v6.1
Homebrew coder Total_Noob is back once again to release a new version of DayViewer, a handy homebrew plugin that displays the day of the week, battery percentage, month name and year on your XMB. The latest update has added some more nifty features and now supports all custom firmwares.

PSP homebrew game: PSP Mario - The New Worlds v0.02
Homebrew coder dan369 is back to release a new version of PSP Mario - The New Worlds, an attempt to clone Super Mario Bros. for the PlayStation Portable. Although the latest update only contains one playable level, the dev reminds everyone that this is just a tech demo mainly to get feedback from the community.
Developer's note:
Basically the game itself is a tech demo, it isn't no full Mario experience with loads of levels, for a level count there is still only 1 level in this game. I've released this mainly to get feedback, what people like/don't like, improvements & what should be added next? The game is a step above v0.01, with a lot of improvements, the full list is underneath:

Collision between enemies
Mini-Mario Logic implanted into the game (i.e you can't smash the brick blocks!)
Full Green Koopa A.I including Idle state, Shell state.
Coins have been added, stand alone coins ain't 100% done yet.
Coin Blocks Have been added, note: that so far coin blocks are only in '?' blocks, there isn't any hidden coins in any of the Brick Blocks but I'll add that soon
Red Koopas are also added into the game, but the A.I isn't 100% (Red koopas don't fall off ledges, but that's all that needs to be done with them)
Added a few more of the classic sound effects like the Coin, Kick etc. (i can't seem to find the Brick block one, where you as little mario hear the 'thund' sound )
Had to re-do the map format, this means that previous created maps won't work, I'll release the updated editor during the week sometime.
(Even though you don't see this, i have the level system up & running, which will switch you from level to level)
Fixed a bug with Mario dying (where he'd just keep falling & falling)
A lot of other minor fixes which i honestly can't remember, its been so long
What About The Future?
The future is very bright for this game, probably the next update will be sometime around spring when i hope to enter the NeoFlash Compo for the first time, but immediate plans would be:
Finish Red Koopas & Stand Alone coins
Add Invisible blocks
Add coins into special Brick Blocks
More levels (Defiantly!)
Finish off Level system (needs some touching up even though the base is their)

Ar Tonelico III detailed
Yesterday, during an event in Tokyo, Banpresto finally detailed the upcoming PS3 JRPG Ar Tonelico III, to be released in Japan on January the 28th, 2010.
The game wil be the first of the series to use 3D graphics, with a lovely cel shaded style that fits the series perfectly, and will be paired with beautiful anime cutscenes. You can see quite a lot of screenshots and artworks on the Japanese website Game Watch, and the new official trailer below.
If the music through the game will be even near to the quality of the track used for the trailer, we're in for a treat for sure. After all music plays a central role in the Ar Tonelico series, and this third chapter will be no exception to that rule.
While the Reyvateils (a race of artificial humanoids able to use the power of the hymnos to attack their enemies) of the Ar Tonelico series always fought using music, the third chapter will use the Adaptive Music technology of the CRI Middleware to actually create the music in real time.
The game is still set in the world of Ar Ciel, and more precisely in it's third tower. Inside an immense structure named Soul Cluster there are two cities, Clusternia, ruled by reyvateils, and Archia, ruled by humans. The relationships between the two cities are very tense.
Clusternia is divided in districts. The Reyvateils' district is a perfect utopia ruled by Original and Beta Reyvetails. Every aspect of one's life in the district is planned to achieve a comfortable and serene lifestyle. Near the base of Clusternia there's the Slaves' district, where humans live in slums made of small and poor houses. Humans are basically treated as servants and subject to the rule of Reyvateils.
The story will start in the village of Aoi Valley, situated at the very border of the slaves' district, inside the weather control system. Due to it's location the wind always blows very strong.
For now three characters have been revealed:
Aoto: he's a disciple in Tower construction, he's very reckless and hard headed, but also characterized by a strong sense of responsibility. Initially he isn't really interested about the political rule of Clusternia, but he starts to antagonize them after meeting Saki and witnessing the destruction of his village. He's voiced by Noriyaki Sugiyama (well known for having lent his voice to Uryu Ishida in Bleach).
Saki: Escaped from the Archia laboratory, she's been created for an unknown us purpose. Her escape several years before the beginning of the story apparently jeopardized some important plan, and that's why she's forced to hide. When put in a strong state of stress she can use a power named "miracle". She's voiced by Mai Goto.
Finnel: She's a clumsy and goofy Beta Reyvateil that works as a barmaid at the Yokkora restaurant. She seems to be the key of an important plan originated from the government of Clusternia, and to have a peculiar ability to get in trouble. She's voiced by the popular Eri Kitamura.
During the game Aoto can "dive" in the spiritual world of each Reyvateil, called Cosmosphere, deepening his bond with them and chosing between various personalities that will affect the way in which the reyvatail fight. Such personalities are represented by different clothes, that increase the power of the Reyvateil when worn (in a SailorMoon-Like transformation).
During battles Aoto's task will be to defend the Reyvateil behind him so that she will have the time to unleash her power without being harmed.
When the power of the reyvateil is unleashed, the R.A.H. system is activated, combining several elements chosen by the player to create music dynamically. If the combination is correct the power created will be devastating.
Ar Tonelico III definitely looks like a top-notch title and marks the passage of another popular JRPG franchise to the current generation of consoles. Now that the PS3 is starting to become really popular in Japan due to the price cuts, we can definitely expect the JRPG genre to bloom again, as the PS2 will finally reach it's well deserved retirement even for smaller developers. We'll have to see if Microsoft will try and keep up the JRPG push that they attempted during the beginning of this generation, but at the moment, expecially due to the strong sales in the domestic market, the PS3 definitely looks more and more likely to take the title of JRPG queen back from it's rival.
Personally, I can't be more happy to see the JRPG genre raising to glory again, after the slow start. We've been fed even too many western games with their generally mediocre stories (besides a few lovely exceptions) until now, and a rebirth of the Japanese gaming industry can only be welcomed as a positive fact for classy gamers. I have a good feeling, and I'm quite sure that we'll see quite a few interesting games announced in the next few months.

Synopsis / Summary : Cerita berkisar pada tokoh protagonis, seorang murid laki-laki sekolah menengah atas bernama Tsukasa Hinomoto. This an application that lets you to watch TV in yur psp with the wifi. It is a modification of the PSPTube that can play some streams.
Now it contains 52 TV streams. Now it has the HighMemMod for better buffer speed but it still needs a quick internet connection.Maybe it will need to buffer for 1-2 minutes until you watch the channel.

They've explained it before, but it appears that many in the scene weren't quite satisfied with PSPGEN's firmware release delay news. Tough break, but don't worry, you'll still get to play Gundam vs. Gundam on your PSP eventually. As for their reasons, MaGiXieN obliges and lets us in on their case.

Many of you ask why we decided to give a date as "late" in our Custom Firmwares 5.50GEN-D3 and 5.03GEN-C. As we already explained in the news [WIP] Custom firmare 5.50GEN-D3-C and 5.03HEN announced two new versions of both Custom Firmwares are well advanced but we try to add a few extra things.
However, rather than what we try to include some hoped to see again the possibility to play online via the PSN and especially an equivalent to MS Access Speedup D_a that was included in the latest version of Custom Firmware. Note that this function is really useful if you use memory cards unofficial and slow. On these two points, we can already tell you that the integration of this module is possible and will probably do if everything works well.
To access the PSN, the fight no longer appropriate and it seems unnecessary to provide this opportunity because the Sony will counter a few hours. Moreover, nothing would prevent Sony to follow the path of Microsoft and start banning consoles Custom firmware patch instead of the PlayStation Store itself. We sincerely believe that this side is Sony's much to keep cheaters away from PSS and ugly ducklings that we all saw on their side, of course. Clearly, to play online, we encourage you to turn to XLink Kai who can play with games not even compatible with infrastructure mode.
So why does not the current version releaser and propose another later?
Despite the pressure put by some Asian members (and not far from all) who suffer from not being able to play with Gundam vs. Gundam, we still kept the release date of December 15, 2009. But why?
The main reason, besides the daily updates that we make is that by then other PSP games have come out strong in Asia (including Naruto) and we would provide the custom firmware that supports it. You can all understand that we have chosen a sensible solution which we probably will avoid having to release a patch the day after the release of one of these games.
We hope you will understand our decision and that you will wait until 15 without falling, as some in insulting us.

PixelJunk Shooter blasts onto PSN next week

Good news, PixelJunk fans. You won't have to wait too long until you get your hands on PixelJunk Shooter, the fourth entry in Q-Games' PixelJunk series. It's just eight days away, in fact.
Q-Games president Dylan Cuthbert recently made the announcement on the US PlayStation Blog, marking down December 10th squarely as PixelJunk Shooter's official release date. The game's a PSN exclusive, so keep an eye on the PlayStation Store when next week's update rolls around.

It's been a while since we last heard from homebrew coder ZodTTD, but now his back to update his PlayStation and MAME arcade emulator for iPhone and iPod Touch. More info after the break.
Developer's note:
I have updated psx4iphone to also support the 3.1.x series of firmwares. Included in psx4iphone v1.1.0 is a fix for a bug causing the non-scaled landscape screen to display properly. DonÂ’t expect too much difference in performance. This emulator will still require an iPhone 3gs or iPod Touch 3rd Gen to really shine. I will be working more on this emulator as I get more free time. You can download psx4iphone from the ZodTTD Repo which is built-in to Cydia via the included community sources package. I updated mame4iphone to version 1.5.0.So whatÂ’s new in this release? While you should be able to notice more performance, I didnÂ’t get to update things to the assembly CPU cores just yet. I did update it to the latest MAME4All v2.4 release by the talented Franxis. I also updated the iPhone/iPodTouch specific user interface to allow for even the entire romset to be loaded. This also fixed some bugs with some screen orientation plus scaling options to not render correctly.
There is a known issue where ROMs can not be switched mid-game. There is also no way to use save states due to the older version of MAME being used. Both of these issues occurred in v1.0.0 as well.
This should help ease the wait for my proper NeoGeo+CD emulator release, as a good amount of classic NeoGeo games are supported.
And if that wasn't enough, Zod has also successfully modified his mame4iphone to add WiiMote support via Bluetooth using BTstack daemon.

Great news guys! Team GEN's latest Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-D3 and 5.03HEN-C has already been dated and is scheduled to arrive this December.
According to MaGiXieN's post, the latest CFW 5.50GEN and 5.03HEN update will be released on December 15, 2009 and will feature an increased compatibility with the recently released games in UMD and PSN.
What's new in these new versions:
Both options are already installed and working perfectly.
Compatibility with games / demos from the PSN sold until Listed
Tekken 6, Gundam, etc..) - OK
